HOUGHTON LAKE HEIGHTS, Mich. - Daniel James Totten, 64, Houghton Lake Heights, died Monday, Jan. 16, 1989 unexpectedly.
He was born Oct. 22, 1924 in Corning to Daniel H. and Myrtle Edger Totten.
He was a retired supervisor for Corning Glass Works in Albion, Mich. He also was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Ardennes Central Europe and northern France, Rhineland. He received the European African Middle-Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and American Service Medal. He attended Corning schools and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving are: his wife, Shirley Isabelle Smith Totten; one son, Richard of Jackson, Mich.; one granddaughter; two grandsons; four sisters, Eileen (Mrs. Rudolph) Kjellen and Ruby (Mrs. Donald) Manning, both of Corning, Helen (Mrs. Bernard) Roe of Addison RD, Mary (Mrs. Wilton) Collum of Millerton, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be in the Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Heights.
