Mrs. Alice C. Barber, whose home was on the Little York road, died suddenly Tuesday night at the home of her son, E.J. Barber, on South Hill, Cortlandville. She was 70 years old and her health not being of the best she came to the home of her son for a rest. She retired at 9 o'clock Tuesday evening, complaining of not feeling well. Wednesday morning the daughter-in-law found her dead in bed. The coroner pronounced it a case of heart failure. Mrs. Barber was a member of the Homer Baptist church and was well known at Homer and vicinity. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, E.J. Barber of South Hill, Orral Barber of McLean, Mrs. Bertha Stoker of Homer and Mrs. Jean Fisher of Spafford; also by one sister, Mrs. Fred Bussing of Oklahoma.
The funeral will be held at the home of her son on South Hill Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock, burial in Cortland Rural cemetery.
