Mrs. Templeton was born to Almeter and Ed Henry Todd. She could trace her ancestry to slaves who had escaped the United States for Mexico. Most of her life was lived in San Antonio. She attended Dorie Miller Elementary, Riley Middle School and graduated from Highland High School in 1971. For two years she attended San Antonio College. In 1978, she joined the Bexar County Sheriff's office. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in 1985, and said by seeking a deeper relationship with the Lord her life was full. As a member of New Creation Christian Fellowship, she was a Sunday School Teacher and was known for her kind and generous spirit. Her life touched many people throughout the San Antonio community. For 27 years she worked at the Sheriffs Department then retired in 2006. Mrs. Templeton was the first African American woman to achieve the rank of Sergeant in the Sheriffs office. Her father, a brother (Marvin Todd) and sister (Virginia Jean Brown) preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, James M. Templeton III; loving mother, Almeter Todd Turbin; two brothers, Ed H. Todd, Jr. (Sabrena) and Selywan Todd (Inette); two sons, Darrell and Quincy Todd (Meagan); one stepson, Alex M. Templeton (Donna); three grandchildren, Deondrick, Alexi and Imari; a special niece, Rivian Shannon; a dear sister-friend, Riveian Jackson and a host of relatives and friends
