Mrs. William Arp Died Thursday, Sept. 28, 1922

Mrs. Wiebke Catherine Arp, beloved wife of William Arp, and for many years a well known and highly respected resident of the vicinity of Indian Grove, died at her home at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, September 28, 1922. Her death resulted from injuries she received in a fall while gathering eggs at the barn about three weeks ago.
Mrs. Arp before her marriage was Miss Wiebke Catherine Timm. She was a daughter of Hans and Antje Timm, and was born at Albersdorf, Holstein, Germany, March 6, 1861. At the age of fourteen years she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in her native land, and remained a faithful member of that church till the time of her death. She was married January 25, 1886, to Mr. William Arp, to whom she has been a devoted companion for thirty-six years. To this union four children were born, one of whom, Raymond, died at the age of three years. The three surviving children are Mrs. George Tietjens, of near Indian Grove, and Miss Freda and Ernest Arp, who are at home. Besides her husband and children, Mrs. Arp also leaves three brothers, Claus and John Timm, who live in Germany, and Chris Timm, of Kansas City.
Mrs. Arp was a devout Christian woman, a loving and devoted wife and mother, and a kind and helpful neighbor and friend. Her death brings deep sorrow to hundreds of friends and neighbors in the community in which she had lived for so many years.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Saturday by Rev. E. W. Abel, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church of this city, in the presence of a large number of sorrowing friends. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery, (German) northeast of Indian Grove.
