BOILING SPRINGS- Virginia Anita Tilley Baker, 81, of 916 Wesley Court, formerly of Inman, dies Feb. 1, 2001 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Frankin, N.C., she was the wife of William E. Baker and daughter of the late Commodore Sterling and Carrie Roper Tilley. She attended Cullowee Teachers College and taught school in Sylva, N.C. for a number of years before becoming a homemaker. In addition, she was a member of Springs of Grace Lutheran Church in Boiling Springs.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons, William S. Baker of Matthews, N.C., and Thomas E. Baker of Ramona, Calif.; three daughters, Janice Jolley of Columbus, N.C., Nancy Melson of Lincolnton, N.C., and Ruth Corwin of Melbourne, Fla.; one brother, Jack F. Tilley of Las Cruces, N.M.; and five granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Seawright Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Everette Lineberger, Mausoleum encryptment will be in Roselawn Mausoleum.

The family is at the home, Boiling Springs Assisted Living Retirement Community, 916 Welsey Court, Boiling Springs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Springs of Grace Lutheran Church Building Funds, 169 Giles Drive, Boiling Springs, 29316.
