Andrew Burton Tigrett was the son of Chesterfield and Mary Jane Hurley Tigrett. His father died when he was just a small boy. After Chesterfield's death Mary married Barnabas Edwards in Madison County in 1853, Andrew and his brother Samuel King Tigrett who would become a minister, would live with the blended family of his, hers, and ours. The family relocated to Dyer County, Tennessee.

A.B. served as the Sheriff of Dyer County during the 1870's.

His wife Lutie, whom he married in 1873, inherited her father's farm after his death. [Rev. Hamilton Parks Foxridge Farm is a Century Farm in Dyer County.] A.B. and Lutie continued the tradition of prosperous farming.

After his mother and stepfather's death, A.B. took in his younger half brother and sister. His half brother Moses Aaron Edwards would become the farm overseer.

A.B. and Lutie had two children: Hamilton Parks Tigrett (findagrave #63685946] and Rebecca Stewart Tigrett.
