Joanne Thurman Chisholm, age 79, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, devoted wife and mother, stepped into the arms of Jesus on November 25, 2014, after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, P.H. "Shine" and Estelle Thurman and her brother, Glen Thurman, all of Springhill, Louisiana.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Earl Chisholm, daughters, Cathy Wilson (Kerry) of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Sue Buie (Dale) of Center, Texas; sister-in-law Mary Chisholm-Anders (Ronnie) of Mountain View, Arkansas and "love adopted" son, Jackie Peavy (Beverly) of Downsville, Louisiana.Five grandchilden, Kevin Gatchell, Randy Gatchell, Rudy Andreatta, Niki Rakes, all of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Amy Andreatta-Goble (Scott) of Grand Junction, Colorado; nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29th, 2014 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Reverend Bryan Abel, Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church of Vicksburg, Mississippi, will officiate the services.
Interment and committal services will follow at Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home
