L.E. was born January 12, 1932 in Bloomington, Idaho, to Joseph Ralph Thornock and Lucy Emeline Perkins Thornock. She attended Bloomington Elementary, Bancroft Junior High School, and graduated from Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho.
L.E. moved to Pocatello, where she met her husband, Raymond Edwin Gantt, and they were married June 27, 1956 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. During the early years of their marriage she worked at the Kraft Cheese Factory in Pocatello. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1958, where she and Ray raised their family.
L.E. was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, snow machining, motorcycling and camping.
She is survived by her: husband, Raymond Gantt, of Idaho Falls; daughter, Lolouise (Rod) McInelly, of Irwin; son, Edwin ElRay (Anita) Gantt, of Springville, UT; brother, Alton LaVar Thornock, of Shelley; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Matthew Thornock and John Thornock; and two sisters: Mary Ellen Welker and Lora Crossley.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, with Bishop Cloyd Jones of the Idaho Falls LDS 18th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
