Hazel Marie Thompson, 91, of Marshall and formerly of Homer, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Tendercare of Marshall.

Mrs. Thompson was born March 30, 1912, in Homer Township, to Kearney and Jennie (Finley) Granger.

She had lived in the Homer and Marshall areas all of her life and was a 1931 graduate of Homer High School.

Mrs. Thompson had been employed as a sales clerk by Carrington Pharmacy in Marshall and retired in 1974. While living in Homer she had worked for Armstrong's Drug Store and also at Bradley's Market.

She married Milton R. "M.R." Thompson July 22, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio. He preceded her in death February 22, 2002.

Mrs. Thompson was a former member of the Homer United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Mae (Gerald) McCoy of Siloam, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Harry (Connie) Thomas of Grand Ledge; numerous nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Debbie Childs.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by a stepsister, Ermah Southwell, and a daughter, Irene Thomas.


Interment followed in Oakridge Cemetery.
