Cyrus Herbert Thompson

---Cyrus Herbert Thompson was born in Lansing, Mich., March 25, 1848. Moved to Coldwater 1850 where his father, who survives him, conducted a jewelry business. He moved to Marshall, September 1860 where he has resided ever since. Mr. Thompson was a partner with his father in the jewelry business until the fall of 1875 at which time Mr. Thompson Sr., moved to Mt. Pleasant where he established a business, the son continuing the business alone in Marshall until his death.
---He was married to Cornelia Mary Bassett of Coldwater in 1871. Two children were born to this union, Louis B. in 1873 and Herbert E. in 1879. His wife and children survive him.
---Mr. Thompson was a member of the Masonic and Knights of Pythias orders.
---The funeral was held Friday at 4:00 o'clock at the home on State street. Rev. I.N. DePuy officiated. Interment was made in Oakridge.
