Found in The State 02 March 1988: Jerry M. Thomas Jr., 75, died Tuesday. Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late Jerry M. Sr. and Mrs. Ethel Mae Boland Thomas. He was a retired employee of the S.C. State Hospital, registrar's division, and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Red Bank. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Stocker Thomas; a son, Jerry M. Thomas III of Hampton; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret T. Whetstone of Irmo; a sister, Mrs. Eleanor T. Bolding of Columbia; grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mark Coulter and the Rev. Larry Parker. Private interment will be in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
