She was a retired nurse's aide at Tyler's Nursing Home in Murphysboro and had also worked at Sauer's Apple Orchard.
Carolyn was survived by four children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three sisters, several special friends, and her pets. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved soulmate, Tommy Stowers I; a brother, George "Bud" Thomas; two sisters, Betty Howard and Judy Kay Blaise; and two infant brothers.
Services were held at Crain Funeral Home Pleasant Grove Chapel; Rev. Dean Akins officiating.
