Shelley Ann Bateman, of Bellevue, died on Tuesday, December 15th, 2015 after a valiant 2 ½ year battle with bile duct cancer. She was 57 years old.
Shelley was born on October 26, 1958 in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Thoman. She was raised in the Portland area until she was 14 years old, when the family moved to Bellevue. She attended Redmond High School and Western Washington University. Shelley worked for various companies in administrative capacities until she became a full-time mother in 1981.
Shelley was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where her compassion and love were demonstrated as she served in various capacities.
Throughout her life, Shelley loved the beach. Her favorite places include Cannon Beach, Maui, and her home on Lake Sammamish.
Survivors include her mother Liz Thoman; Sister Connie Thoman (Jeanne); brother Jim Thoman (Jeannie); husband Kendall; sons, Ryan Bateman (Dani), Jason Bateman, and Eric Bateman (Lisa); daughter, Alyssa Bateman; grandchildren Hailey, Joshua, Evan, Matthew, Blake, Brooklyn, and Grace; and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held on December 19th at the Upper Hillside Cemetery in Issaquah. A public memorial service will also be held on December 19th at 3:00pm at the Bellevue South Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15205 SE 28th St., Bellevue, WA 98007.
