Visitation will be at the Leggett Funeral Home in Hopkins Park from 10 a.m. Saturday until the services there at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Bobby Shaw will officiate.
Burial will be in the Momence Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 2, 1926 in Chicago, the son of Bennie and Rosa Thigpen.
Surviving are his wife, the former Henrietta Booze, whom he married Aug. 3, 1953 in Chicago; two brothers, Bennie and Bernard Thigpen both of Chicago; and two sisters, Iona Foster of Momence and Jeanette Dyson of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
A resident of this area for seven years, he was an evangelist for the Church of Christ.
Mr. Thigpen was a retired maintenance employee of the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle campus.
