Ruth, of Pansey, AL, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016. She was 92 years old. She was born in Okemos, MI to the late Frank and Sarah Buxton.

Mrs. Thayer was a member of Union Springs Freewill Baptist Church for several years. She enjoyed being in charge of all conversations, enjoyed fishing, traveling, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

She was preceded in death besides her parents, her husband, Willard Thayer; multiple brothers and sisters; two sons, David Thayer, and Terry Thayer; one daughter, Nancy Thayer.

Survivors include her daughter, Pat Hart of Pansey, AL., Sarah Hudspeth of Lansing, MI; sons, Rodney Thayer (Becky) of Lansing, MI, Roger Thayer of Lansing, MI, and Danny Thayer of Lansing, MI; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; one, daughter-in-law, Louise Irvin Thayer; and special friends, her whole church family.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Union Springs Baptist Church with Brother James Welch officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to Union Springs Freewill Baptist Church Lady’s Group, Pansey, AL.
