Birth: Sep. 18, 1923
Death: Jul. 20, 1961

Juanita Terry first married Lester Lyle "Mac" McAllister at Hutchinson, Kansas. They divorced. She married Uncle Red Embry in 1948 in San Angelo, Texas.

"Uncle Red Embry was still living on the old Embry farm west of Abernathy when Judia and I visited him in October 1993. He was still living in the four room house that he, Juanita and Sis built about 1955. His sisters, Eula and Joyce and their families were there visiting with him and pulling peanuts. We had a good visit, as I had not seen him since Dad and Mom and I visited him in Lubbock in 1965, when I was attending Texas Tech University. He had farmed until 1991, when he leased his land out. Much of his land was in a government program. He seemed spry as ever, but somehow more frail than I remembered him, from the viewpoint of a child. He had married a second time, divorced, but was still visiting his ex-wife, who was then living in Oklahoma City, and (as he put it) they got along just fine, while they weren't married." (Ralph Terry, October 1993.)

"We (Juanita Terry and W. T. "Dick" "Red" Embry) met in 1947, at the Blue Anchor Cafe in San Angelo, Texas where she worked. I was working in the oil patch at that time in the San Angelo area. I told her the first night I saw her that I was going to marry her. We married in the summer of 1948 in San Angelo, and lived for a while in San Angelo, then in Santa Anna, Texas before moving back to my folk's home place near Abernathy to farm in 1955." (Interview with "Uncle Red" Embry by Judia and Ralph Terry, 9 October 1993, Embry farm near Abernathy, Texas.)

Juanita Embry's most recent Texas driver's license before her death gave her license listed her as being five foot, four inches tall, weighing 114 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Juanita Mae (Terry) Embry served in the U. S. Armed Forces from October 12, 1943 through September 10, 1945. She died of "generalized abdominal carcinomatosis, from an undetermined source, pancreas suggested." (Information from the Certificate of Death of Juanita Mae Embry, Houston, Harris County, Texas, Registrar's file No. 4664.)

Neither Juanita Mae Embry nor W. T. Embry had any children by either of their marriages.
