Angila Burkhead, 67, Bloomfield, died Sunday Jan. 22, 2012, at her residence. She was the former Angila Terrell Burkhead, a native of Nelson County, and a former employee of Owens-Illinois now known as American FujiSeal. She was a member of Willisburg Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Pauline Noel Terrell.

Survivors include her husband, William Burkhead Jr.; two sons, Jeff (Bobbi) Burkhead and Greg (Chasity) Burkhead, both of Bloomfield; two daughters, Susan (Barry) Davenport, Bardstown, and Carol (Phillip) Dingus, New Tazwell, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Joyce (Dale) Simpson, Chaplin, Linda Kays, Wash- Debbie Morris, New Hope, Nancy (Stuart) Newton, Loretto, Lisa (Billy) Hall, Bloomfield; four brothers, Ted Hicks, Steve Hicks and Donald Hicks, all of New Hope, and Rick (Susan) Hicks, Lexington; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, New Hope, followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Fortener was the celebrant. Pallbearers were Trevor Hicks, Travis Mattingly, Daniel Morris, Larry Hicks, Nick Egorow and Billy Mattingly. Mattingly Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
