The funeral of Mrs. Gilbert H. Benedict was held from the home of Hon. T. E. Benedict at Napanoch on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The service was in charge of Rev. W. H. Maines, of the Reformed Church, Ellenville, of which deceased was a member. Mrs. John R. DeVany, Miss Bertha Demarest and Rev. Maines sang two selections, "Some Day" and the "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." The floral expressions of love and sympathy were beautiful. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends at the service. Mrs. Benedict was the daughter of Samuel Teller and Elizabeth Deyo, his wife, and was 70 years of age at the time of her death. Before her marriage to Mr. Benedict, deceased was one of Ellenville's loved school teachers. To Mr. and Mrs. Benedict was born one daughter, Miss Georgia Benedict, who holds a responsible position in the state library at Albany. About ten years ago Mr. and Mrs. Benedict and daughter left Ellenville for Saratoga, where they have since resided. Mr. and Mrs. John D. Schoonmaker of Kingston and Frederick S. Benedict are relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Benedict of New York were here for the funeral and burial which was made in the Fantinekill Cemetery.
