Mother of 8 called to Rest
One of the saddest cases imaginable is the death of Mrs. John D. Carver at her home north of Cortez Tuesday morning. Flu and pneumonia were the Cause of death. Not yet thirty-six years of age she leaves behind eight children, the oldest 17 years old,the youngest one month and three days. her husband also survives her.
Lula Electa Carver was born in Osborne County, Kansas, May 25 1899, and departed life at the age of 35 years,9 months and one day of age. She came to this country with her family just prior to 1920, living first in the Ackmen section and later in the valley.
Mrs. Carver Grew to womanhood in Russel county, Kansas, where she met and married John Carver, July 23 1916. Aside from the husband and children she is survived by her Mother Mrs. S.J. Taylor of Luray, Kansas, two brothers and two sisters. Her Father preceded her in death. Deceased was a member of the Church of the First Born.
Funeral services were held at the Leonard home near Arriola on Wednesday afternoon, the Ertel Mortuary directing. Burial was at Arriola.
