May T. Benson was born February 5, 1930, the daughter of Mary (Jury) and Thomas Taylor in Reno, Nevada. She was educated at a Catholic school in San Francisco, California. On September 26, 1947, she married Dell M. Benson of Lovell, Wyoming in Billings, Montana. They lived in several western states during her husband's many years in highway construction. She was very happy with all the friends they made everywhere. In 1972, the couple moved to Gillette, Wyoming, making it their permanent home.
May was fond of fishing and camping with her family. She loved her occasional trips to Deadwood, South Dakota. May had many hobbies: crocheting outfits for dolls to give to needy children and family; she hand made angels that she loved to give to her many fiends and people she didn't know. Until lately, one of her favorite passions was her almost daily trips to town and seeing her friends at the different stores. May was lovingly known to almost everyone as "Aunt May" or "Miss May." The paperboys and papergirls would make a point to stop and get their treats and say "Hi." "Stranger" was not a word in May's vocabulary.
Mrs. Benson will be greatly missed by her daughters: Paula Krussow and son-in-law, Marvin of Gillette, Wyoming; Sharon Chamberlain and son-in-law, Harvey both of Gillette, Wyoming; two sons: Dell and Leonard Benson both of Gillette, Wyoming; five grandsons: Tony and Joey Krussow, Jason and Tom Chamberlain of Gillette, Wyoming and Tom Benson of Trenton, Georgia; and seven grandchildren, of which she had much joy and love for.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dell and her youngest son, Tom.
