Mr. Earl Taylor Jr., age 89, of Mesquite, TX died March 17, 2014 at Baylor Dallas Medical Center from complications following an automobile accident. Mr. Taylor was born on April 27, 1924 in Minden, LA, the son of the late Earl Sr., and Lena Taylor. Following graduation from Booker T. Washington High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served with the SeaBees during World War II. Following the war, Mr. Taylor returned to Cleburne Texas and married the former Bobbie L. Perry; 11 children were born.

Preceding him in death: parents, a sister, brother and 3 children

Survivors: Mr. Taylor is survived by four daughters: Dionna Webb (Robert Dorsey) Kansas City, KS, Sharon Smith (Carnell) Leavenworth, KS, Ollena Rutledge (Ronnie) Spring Valley, CA, Annabelle Howard (Eugene) Leavenworth, KS and four sons (Earl Taylor III (Sarah) Ft. Washington, MD, Hartwell Taylor, Leavenworth, KS Dwight Taylor (Heartense) Leavenworth, Ks and Perry Taylor of Long Beach, MS. Also 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grand children survive. He also leaves behind his sister Vera Bell of Oakland, CA. and a very special friend Shelia Rolla of Mesquite, TX.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: March 27, 2014 at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Worth, TX; final memorial service held March, 31, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Leavenworth, KS. Internment will be at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery with full military honors.
