JoLyn Smith was born May 20, 1949 to Eugene Rex Smith and Geraldine Timothy. She had two brothers one older, Kent, and one younger, Michael. Her parents were later divorced and her mother married LeLand Carroll April 7, 1957 and they lived in Montacello, Utah where Leland taught school. They later Moved to Vernal Utah. Four more children were born, Kathleen, Ann, Paul & Patrick. Jolyn graduated from Uintah High School in 1967. She also received two degrees one from BYU and the other from USU. She taught at Woods Cross High School. She married Mr. Taylor and had a family. Her father died December 11, 2009 and her mother died Sept 27, 2014. Jolyn died April 6, 2016. She is survived by Michael & Sydney Smith, Kent & Sally Smith, Kathleen & Michael Palmer, Ann & Verlin Cook, Paul & Ana Carroll, & Patrick & Deborah Carroll. Jolyn is buried in the Fairview Cemetary in Maeser, Utah
