Loa, Utah - Our sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Loma Taylor Blackburn, age 83, passed from her earthly mission on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Loa, Utah. She was born January 25, 1931, in Fremont, Utah, a daughter of Glen Ellison and Dortha May Morrell Taylor. She was one of fifteen children.

Loma was sealed to her eternal companion Floyd Eugene Blackburn on November 1, 1950 in the Manti LDS Temple. Together they raised five children: Dennis, Michael, Laura, Carolyn and Howard. They have a great posterity of 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death, April 21, 2001. We know that there was a long-awaited sweet reunion.

Loma came into the world with a firm desire to serve and love others. She spent many hours tending and loving her children and grandchildren. She lived life with a purpose and filled it with hard work and dedicated faith. Her love for people found her working in jobs such as the postmaster, and the Wayne County Treasurer/Recorder.

Loma was an active member of the LDS church, serving faithfully wherever called. She was a woman of great faith, integrity, strength, and anxiously sought to bless the lives of others. Loma often said that her greatest treasures were her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children: Dennis and Camille Blackburn, Michael and Nadalee Blackburn, Laura and Dwight Brinkerhoff, Howard and Cherie Blackburn, all of Bicknell; Carolyn and Norman Jones of Provo; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and her siblings Faye Behunin of Torrey; Talmage Taylor and Leo Taylor, both of Sandy; Blanche Brinkerhoff of Bicknell; Dick Taylor of Fremont; JoAnn Erickson and Malcolm Dent Taylor, both of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Berta Taft, Mell Taylor, Arnold Taylor, Glen Devoy Taylor, May Taylor, Hyrum Taylor and Kay Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the Loa LDS Stake Center. Friends may call for viewing at the Loa LDS Stake Center, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services.
