Charles P. Taylor, 84, a former Burnt Prairie farmer who has lived in Fairfield for over 30 years, died at Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Taylor was born in White County, December 13, 1892, the son of William and Addie Vaughan Taylor. He was married in 1914 to Elizabeth Stahl, who died Oct. 11, 1973.
He farmed and lived in the Burnt Prairie area. In 1943, he moved to Fairfield and worked for Airtex but he had since retired. He had been in failing health the last three years.
Survivors are four daughters, Oma Young, Opal O'Dell, Ruby Haegele, and Hattie Parks; nine grandchildren; a brother Ivan; and three sisters, Martha Duckworth, Flora Duckworth, and Pearl Stahl.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant children; four brothers, Oscar, Henry, Jess, and Robert.
Services were at Nales Funeral Home with burial in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
