Richard Tatsch, 79, died May 23 at the Fort Bayard Medical Center.He was born April 3, 1905 in Los Angeles, Ca. the son of August and Gretchen Schmitt Tatsch. Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Silver City; his daughter, Gretchen of El Paso, Texas; two brothers. Herbert Tatsch of Balboa, Ca. and Frank Tatsch of Pinos Altos; one sister, Marguerite Bodger of Laguna Hills, Ca.; three nephews and two nieces. Two sisters-in-law also survive, Helen and Connie Golding of Silver City. Graveside services were held May 25 at Memory Lane Cemetery with Rev. Clifton M. Henderson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Obed Albrecht, Gilbert Benton, Victor Holgin, Kerry Ryan, Murray Ryan and Clyde Stauder. Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Bueno, James Craig, Buddy Gwyn, Norman Hodges, Paul Hunter, Bobby Mallard, Walter Moreland, Lewis Spencer, Bill Word and Andy Merz. Memorials may be made to the Grant County Humane Society. Fort Bayard Patients Fund. Silver City Museum or the Silver City Library. Arrangements by the Curtis-Bright Funeral Home.
