Martha Tarpley Coats, of Midland, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2004.
She was born May 2, 1916 to William Martin Eggler and Estella Jane Meadows Eggler in Illinois and was raised and educated there. Martha met and later married Carl C. Tarpley. The couple came to Midland, Texas in 1948. Martha was a homemaker who loved raising her family. She enjoyed animals and also working in the care giving business.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Carl C. Tarpley and second husband, Otis Lee Coats.
Martha is survived by her sons, Don Tarpley of St. Petersburg, FL; Jim Tarpley and his wife, Lorene, Jerry Tarpley and his wife, Cheryl, and Mike Tarpley, all of Midland, TX; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Monday, October 25, 2004 between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Casey Smith, Tanner Smith, Mathew Horton, Thomas Horton, Shannon Tarpley and Jerry Tarpley, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are John Young and Larry Barr. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
