Franklin-Sept. 25---The death of Mrs. Jane Tannahill occurred at 11 0'clock Tuesday morning at her home here. She was 85 years of age, and was born near Decatur in June 1840. Her maiden name was Jane Ellen Whitney (this differs from her death index and her son's death index which has Whitley) . She was married to John Tannahill in 1855 and became the mother of eleven children. Her husband and seven children preceded her in death.

She is survived by four sons, William of Ashland, Wes and Grant of Franklin, and George of Murrayville, she also leaves several grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the Christian church in Franklin, in charge of Rev. Z. M. Brubeck.

Those caring for flowers were Mrs. Inez Rule, Miss Hattie Tannahill, Miss Lela Moore, and Miss Ethel Crawford, all grandchildren of the deceased. The bearers were Emory, Leslie, Lester, and Eldon Tannahill, Oscar Moore, and Amos Watkins. Interment took place in Franklin Cemetery.
