Notice in Waterloo Times-Tribune, Wednesday Morning, March 12, 1913
MRS. J.M. CASS DIED YESTERDAY
After an illness of several weeks Mrs. J. M. Cass passed away at her home at 632 West Mullan avenue last evening at 10:45. Mrs. Cass has been a resident of this city for several years and since coming here has made many friends who will mourn her death.
The deceased is survived by her husband and two daughters, Miss Maud Cass of Chicago and Miss Edna Cass of Lake Crystal, Minn., all of whom were at the bedside of the wife and mother at the time of death last evening. The two daughters were recently called home on account of the serious illness of their mother, arriving in this city last Friday.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

The remains of Mrs. James Cass of Waterloo, were brought here for interment Thursday. Rev. Spry, her pastor, came up with the funeral party, which was joined by other friends at Cedar Falls and Shellrock. She will be better known here as Miss Lucy Tannyhill and grew to womanhood in this vicinity.
