Her father was Joseph Talkington and her mother Rebecca Anne (Kirk) Talkington. They left Arkansas and came to Washington State in 1889.

She married Eli Goodwin 26 December 1900 Harrington, Lincoln County, Washington. He was a farmer.

She had not been feeling well so had an operation in the Spokane Sacred Heart Hospital. A full recovery was expected. However she had a heart attack and passed away on the operating table.

She became a Christian at the age of nine and all her life was kind and good to those around her. She was very devoted to her mother and her family.

She was a member of the Harrington Pythian Sisters and the Knights of Pythias. They helped with her funeral.

Their children were:
Joseph Zealand Goodwin
and
Florence Idella Goodwin died at age of 5 in 1915.
