Mary E. Boucha, 89, of Engadine, Michigan, died Monday morning October 11, 2010 at the Helen Newbery Joy Hospital Long Term Care Facility surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 4, 1921 in Anderson, Indiana, daughter of the late Robert Taliaferro and Bessie (Shelton) Taliaferro, Mary Taliaferro was a graduate of Jackson High School where she played the violin in the orchestra. Mary met Lloyd A. Boucha when he was employed as a gas station attendant and she was employed as a waitress at the former Blaney Park Resort and, on October 18, 1938, were united in marriage. Mary was a member of the Engadine United Methodist Church, a Girl Scout Leader for several years and her hobbies included sewing, painting, flower gardening, baking, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Boucha on November 2, 2008; siblings Jane, Gloria, Howard Taliaferro and James Taliaferro.
Survivors included her children Phillip (Darlene) of Grand Blanc, Gordon (Deb) of Gaines, Myron of Sault Ste. Marie, Susan (Chris) Rohn of Burt Lake, MI and Cynthia (Garry) Smith of Engadine; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; siblings Bob & Kenny Taliaferro, Elmer Price and Rita Vallier.
