Doris H. (Talbot) Belanger, 83, died on May 5, 2012 at home with her family by her side. Born March 25, 1929 in Ludlow, she was the daughter of Oliver Talbot and Fabiola (Arpin) Talbot. Growing up in Indian Orchard, she raised her family in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield and was a longtime member of Our Lady of Hope Church. In 2004, Doris moved to Palmer. She loved going to the beach in Rhode Island, enjoying the family cottage for over 10 years. She also loved bus trips and cruises with her husband Richard. Her family was her passion, the love of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren illuminated her life. In 2006, she was predeceased by her husband Richard L. and she will be greatly missed by her children, Joanne Belanger of Springfield, Thomas Belan-ger and his wife Karen with whom she lived, Christine Belanger of Springfield, Timothy Belanger and his wife Theresa of Palmer, Michelle Blaine and her husband Michael of Palmer, and a grandson whom she raised, Edward Belanger and his wife Katherine of Palmer along with 14 other grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Doris was the last surviving child of her five siblings. Besides her husband and siblings, she was predeceased by her son, Richard Belanger, daughter, Susan Belanger, and daughter, Nancy Belanger at birth. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 08, 2012 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Thomas Church in Palmer. Memorial burial will be held at a later date at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
