Ola Marie Taggart Brown-Leggett 85, of Shelbyville formerly of Indianapolis born May 18, 1920 to Robert Bentley Taggart & Clyde Bessie (Davenport) Taggart of Indianapolis died on Wednesday February 1, 2006. Ola was employed by P.R. Mallory and Sears Roebuck & Co. where she retired in 1983 after 27 years of service. Ola was a member and past-matron of the Order of Eastern Star #315, and is a current member of Order of Eastern Star #300 in Millersville Indiana. She was also a member and past president of VFW Auxiliary #624 and was a current member of VFW Auxiliary #1587 Frank T. Strayer. Ola also served as a past president of the 11th District VFW Auxiliary. She was a member of the West Street Methodist Church in Shelbyville. Ola was the mother of Robert M. Brown and wife Sandra Kay (Lee) Brown also of Shelbyville, and Grandmother of Robert M. Brown Jr. and wife Janet A. Brown of Indianapolis. Ola is the great-grandmother of John Michael Sichting, Janet Michelle Sichting, Kathryn Marie Brown and Robert M Brown III. Ola is survived by two sisters, Carolyn (Taggart) Swigart of Torrence CA. and Nancy (Taggart) Kayga of Phoenix AZ. She was preceded in death by husband Franklin M. Leggett, her parents, and brothers Robert B. Taggart Jr. and Kermit R. Taggart, as well as sisters Mary Ellen (Taggart) Dion and Allene (Taggart) Moore. Friends may call on Friday February 3, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Crown Hill Funeral Home Chapel and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
