Born April 20, 1934, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Wesley McKinley and Evenly Marie (Foster) Swope. She was raised in Frederick and then moved in with her grandparents in Waynesboro in 1952.
She and her husband, Leonard C. Boyer, were married on Sept. 3, 1955. They had lived at the present residence since the time of their marriage.
In her early life, Mrs. Boyer was employed at Goodwill Industry in Hagerstown and later for a short time at Waynesboro Shoe Factory, Waynesboro.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sisters, Loveus Louise Whyte of Baltimore, Anna Mary Hahn of Emmitsburg and Betty Jane Smith of Gaithersburg, Md.; three brothers, Wesley McKinley Swope Jr. of Waynesboro, Frank Nelson Swope of Rockaway Park, N.Y., and Robert Irwin Smith of Charlestown, W.Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
