Dorothy Lee "Granny" (Switzer) Maxwell

Dorothy Lee “Granny” Maxwell Born October 17, 1923 in Cedar Hill, Texas and went home to meet the Lord on November 10, 2016 in Cedar Hill, Texas at the age of 93. Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband Elzie “Red” Maxwell in 2002, great granddaughter Jessica Ross Wiley in 2012 and grandson Emil E. Maxwell Jr. in 2016. She is survived by her children Thomas Raye, Brenda Raye, Debra Maxwell, Emil Maxwell and wife Jearie, Delmer Maxwell and wife Donna, brother T.C. “Heavy” Switzer and wife Becky, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Cedar Hill and was working at Ling Temco Vought ( L.T.V.) where she met Red Maxwell and they were married in September of 1951. After the birth of their first child, Dorothy decided to quit work and stay at home and raise her children. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday November 14, 2016 at David Clayton and Sons. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Tuesday November 15, 2016 at David Clayton and Sons. Interment will follow at Little Bethel Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Elzie “Red” Maxwell
