Mary was the daughter of Jacob and Mary E. Switzer. She married Christopher Alwood on 7 May 1879 in Lucas County. In 1900, they were in Steuben County, Indiana with children: Robert, Etha, Charlie, Edgar, Lesta, and William. Christopher died there in 1901.
