Minnie was the daughter of Charles William Capers Varnadow and Virginia Young Mims Bottoms. She was one of ten children.
On Dec. 21, 1899, Minnie married John Newton Swearingen of Worth County, GA. They moved to Fitzgerald, Ga. in 1914, where they farmed and raised three children:
1- Ella Cleo
2- Zealie Otis
3- Essie Clyde
Minnie was a kind and gracious lady, who worked hard as a homemaker, and was always there when others needed her. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald, Ga.
