Carl G. Sundberg. 69, well known beekeeper, died Sunday morning of a heart attack at his home in Fergus Falls township.
Born at Worthington Aug. 6. 1892. he came to this area with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sundberg, in 1901. Since then he had lived on the home farm three miles north of Fergus Falls. For the last 40 years he had been engaged in beekeeping in partnership with his brother Walter. He graduated from Northwestern college in Fergus Falls in 1910.
Mr. Sundberg was a faithful member of the Augustana Lutheran church. He served as board member, choir member, church secretary and at the present time was secretary of the District Churchmen.
He took an active interest in community affairs and at the time of his death he was serving as treasurer of the local school district. He had held the position for 33 years. He also was secretary-treasurer of the Fergus Livestock Shipping association and was secretary-treasurer of the
Otter Tail Coop Oils.
Two sisters and two brothers survive. They are Mrs. H. B. (Hattie) Cobb of New York. Mrs. Gust (Annie) Onken of Silesia. Mont., Victor A. Sundberg of Richville and Walter Sundberg of Fergus Falls. He also leaves nine nieces and five nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Augustana Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Laurel M. Udden officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the Glende-Johnson Funeral home.
