Floyd Summerfield, 72, of West Salem, died Oct. 31 at 10:50 p.m. in Richland Memorial Hospital.

Visitation and services will be in Ingram Funeral Home,West Salem with burial in Moravian Cemetery.

Mr. Summerfield was born Aug. 2, 1913, in Edwards County to Lee and Gertrude (Findley) Summerfield. Aug. 11, 1934, he married Vera Knackmus, who preceded him in death
Feb. 10, 1980. Sept. 23, 1982, he married Carolyn (Lomas) Harrison, who survives, in West Salem.

Mr. Summerfield was a farmer, an auctioneer, and a school bus driver for over 30 years. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, West Salem.

Other survivors include a son, Charles, Olney; a daughter, Mrs. Sally Laue, Mattoon; a step-son, Gary Harrison, at home; two step-daughters, Patti Michaels, Albion; Beverly Hall, West Salem; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, and a daughter, Sondra Sue, in 1945.
