Margaret Campbell
Margaret E. Campbell, 84, of Nampa died peacefully at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa, Idaho on March 5, 2000. Vigil service will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2000 at Persons Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2000 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
Margaret was born September 22, 1915 in Pocatello, Idaho to Daniel and Mary Sullivan. She attended school in Pocatello and Glenns Ferry graduating from Glenns Ferry High School in 1934. Upon high school graduation Margaret attended nursing school at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington becoming a registered nurse in 1937. She worked at hospitals in Ontario, Oregon, Gooding, Pocatello and Nampa, Idaho.
Margaret married C.R. "Smoke" Campbell in Pocatello in 1945. They lived in Glenns Ferry prior to moving to Nampa in 1949. Smoke died in 1966 at which time Margaret returned to nursing, retiring from Mercy Hospital in 1987.
Margaret always insisted on making patient care and comfort the priority. The nursing staff at Mercy Hospital was her other family.
Margaret and Smoke are survived by four children Dan and Peggy Campbell and family of Glenns Ferry, Idaho, Mary Anne and Mick McLaughlin and family of Orofino, Idaho, Pat and Jackie Campbell and family of Nampa, Idaho and Mike and Colleen Campbell and family of Boise, Idaho. She was blessed with 10 loving grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by two sisters Catherine Shrum of Nampa and Helen Garrity of Evanston, Illinois and one sister-in-law, Regna Galloway of Caldwell, Idaho, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family suggests donation be sent to St. Paul's School in Nampa, or your favorite charity.
"Don't cry because she is gone, rather celebrate and smile because she was here."
