Geraldine S. McIntyre, 91, of Augusta, formerly of Scarborough, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at the Maine Veterans Home. She was born in Portland on Sept. 4, 1918, the daughter of Edward F. and Thelma Morton Sullivan. She was a graduate of South Portland High School. Geraldine married Royal E. McIntyre on April 9, 1940. Mr. McIntyre passed away in 1994. Geraldine worked as the Office Manager for the Kennebec Valley Girl Scouts until her retirement in 1980. Mrs. McIntyre enjoyed gardening and rug hooking. She was an active volunteer at the Scarborough Public Library and a member of the Blackpoint Cemetery Association. Geraldine is survived by a son Michael T. McIntyre of Dayville, Conn., a daughter Suzan G. McIntyre of Gardiner; a brother Edward Sullivan of North Carolina, two sisters, Virginia Bell of Hollis, N.H., and Theresa Feeney of Falmouth; three grandsons, Michael, Stephen and Shawn, a granddaughter, Tracey; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. Interment will follow at the Black Point Cemetery in Scarborough.
