Carmen Sullivan

Carmen Long Sullivan, 88, formerly of East Ridge and affectionately known as "Dee-Doe," died Tuesday morning, May 6, 2003, in a local nursing home.

She was retired as executive secretary at Standard-Coosa-Thatcher.

Mrs. Sullivan was the widow of William French Sullivan, the daughter of the late Jacob and Rachel Long and sister of the late Gladys Snyder, Minnie Moore and Jessie Long. She also was the aunt of the late Billy and Carolyn Marlin.

She was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Sullivan and her late husband, "Sully," raised and trained Tennessee walking horses.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Reed and Angie Sullivan, Johnny and April Sullivan and others from Cleveland, Tenn.; great nieces and nephews, Brad and Suzan Smith and Larry and Nancy Ridge, all from Harrison, and Doug Marlin from Dalton, Ga.; great-great-nieces and nephews, Jason and LeShawne Ridge from Ooltewah, Brent and Kelly Phillips, Lance and Heather Hanson from Harrison and Sasha, Tanner and Lydia Marlin from Dalton, Ga.; and great-great-nephew, Lucas Ridge from Ooltewah.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Rainwater and the Rev. Mark Womack officiating.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until the service at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
