LURA ADELL ALLEN

Lura Adell Allen, 85, of Cedar Hill, died Sunday in a Mesquite hospital. She was a Nolan County resident for more than 60 years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the McCoy Chapel of Memories with the Rev. William Hatler officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen was born in Van Zandt County on Nov. 8, 1907, and married William Arnold Allen on Nov. 24, 1925, in Canton. She was a housewife, and had lived in Nolan County from 1927 until 1988, when she moved to Dallas.

She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, on Dec. 19, 1977, and a daughter, Gladys Stillman.

Survivors include two sons, Fred Allen of Cedar Hill and A. J. Allen of Arlington; two daughters, Hazel Bartek of Forney and Inez Dunlap of Roscoe; one brother, Roy Sudduth of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Garrett, Jerrie Reed, David Massey, Perry Leonard, Kenny Vaughn and Lon Allen.
