Mildred Chapple of Spiro was born April 22, 1916, in Spiro to Robert and Mariam (Birch) Strickland and passed away Monday, March 17, 2008.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruth Freeman and husband Tony of Spiro; three sons, Don and Billy Ray Chapple, both of Spiro, and Carl Chapple and his wife, Julie of Muskogee, Okla.; two sisters, Lola Horine of Spiro and Mamie Braun of St. Louis; nine grandchildren, Bill Chapple, Bryson Chapple, Teresa Compton, Tracy Chapple, Christa Aary, Rhonda Mainbourg, James Chapple, Janet Fitzgerald, Rick Hernandez; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; one son, Melford Chapple; three grandsons, David Hernandez, Troy Chapple and James Chapple; five sisters, Elthel Foyil, Mary Turner, Lois Cusick, Aleta Bowen and Flora Wood.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Myers officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Chapple, Bryson Chapple, James Chapple, Rick Hernandez, Bud Cusick, Mike Gillion, Ty Chapple.
