Dorothy B. Streng, age 90, of Beal City died Tuesday, May 12, 1998, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with the Rev. John Thome officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph School or Masses.
Dorothy was born September 17, 1907 in Rudolph, Wisc., the daughter of Peter and Mary (Marhofer) Andres. She married Joseph E. Streng on June 11, 1929 in Beal City.
She has been a resident of the area since 1940, coming from Maple Grove. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Catholic Council of Women, and Right to Life.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Fred (Patricia) Streng of Beal City; four daughters, Robert (Maxine) Finnerty of Beal City, Roger (Vera) Vogler of Rockford, Robert (Patricia) Fate of Flushing and Gerry (Richard) Schafer of Beal City; a brother, Joseph (Martha) Andres of Big Rapids; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Andres of Big Rapids and Ada Andres Smith of Mt. Pleasant; 37 grandchildren; and 58 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph in 1989; three brothers, Ramey, John and Alvin Andres; three sisters, Gertrude Hibblen, Veronica Tilmann and Philomena Kessler; and one great grandchild.
