Mrs. Roy Botheras, formerly of Collins, but for the last six years a resident of Des Moines, passed away last Wednesday evening, June 11, after an illness of short duration, death being attributed to peritonitis.
The sincere sympathy of the entire community is extended to the grief-stricken husband and to the other members of the family who survive her.
Carrie Luella Stone, daughter of Charles and Della Stone, was born at Maxwell, Iowa, July 19, 1902, and passed away at 3:10 p.m., June 11, 1930, at the Polyclinic hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 27 years, 10 months and 22 days.
She grew up in Maxwell, graduating from the high school with the class of '22.
She was united in marriage to Roy Botheras of Collins, Iowa, October 14, 1922. Their home was blessed with three children: Zola, Jack and Bob, who brought gladness and love and contentment, the real satisfying and enriching values of life to the home.
She united with the Christian church of Maxwell when a child, afterwards transferring to the Methodist church, and in recent years has been a member of the Calvary Baptist church of Des Moines. One of her greatest joys came in getting ready her youngsters and taking them to Sunday School.
She was a faithful, loving wife, and a mother who gave her deepest love to her children. She joyously gave them the fullness of her devoted and thoughtful care.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and three children, her mother, three sisters and one brother: Mrs. D. Stanard of Whitefish, Mont.; Mrs. G. B. Simpson and Bessie of Maxwell; and V. E. Kearnes of Portland, Ore., besides a host of relatives and friends.
The pall bearers were: Messrs. J. W. Piercy, C. I. Kirk, Kenneth Tomlinson, E. L. Wood, James Olinger and Harry Gibson.
The funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Maxwell, Friday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Minor Stevens, pastor of the Calvary Baptist church of Des Moines, officiating, assisted by Rev. E. A. Thomas, Pastor of the Maxwell M.E. church.
Interment was made in the Maxwell cemetery.
