Mrs. Margaret Amanda Alberti, a lifelong resident of El Dorado Springs and vicinity, died last Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Anna Pack, near Pacetown. Mrs. Alberti, who resided on South Main Street, had been in failing health for some time and when her condition became critical several weeks ago, she was removed to the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Alberti, daughter of the late John Stockstill and wife, Cedar county pioneers, was born near Pacetown July 12, 1866, being over 73 years old. She was married March 18, 1888, to Ernest Alberti, who died September 8, 1920.
There were four children born to this union, namely, Mrs. Anna Pack, Mrs. Ella Breeding and Jacob Alberti, all of El Dorado Springs vicinity, and Mrs. Nora Tullis, El Paso, Tex. She also leaves two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Mary Owens, Arcola, Mo.; Mrs. Dora Owens, Cushing, Okla.; Tom Stockstill of Portia and Harry Stockstill of near Pacetown, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
She was converted in early life and always manifested a keen interest in the affairs of her church. At the time of her death she was a member of the El Dorado Springs Christian church. She was a devoted wife and mother and was widely known, both in this city, and in the Pacetown vicinity, where she spent the early days of her life. She will be greatly missed by her relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held in the church at Pacetown Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. R. A. Blalock, pastor of the El Dorado Springs Christian church. Burial was in the Sand Ridge cemetery under the direction of the Gwinn-Siders funeral home.
