Mrs. Rosa Stief Dewein, 55, 510 South Illinois street, died in St. Elizabeth's Hospital at 11:15 a.m. today following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Dewein was born in Belleville October 6, 1881, a daughter of Joseph and Bertha Stief, nee Loos. Her mother survives. She married George Dewein in Belleville. [Note: She was George's first wife.] They had no children.
Besides her husband and her mother, she leaves a brother, Joseph Stief, Jr. and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Tucker and Mrs. Theresa Forsythe, all of Belleville.
Funeral at 9 a.m. Friday from St. Peter's Cathedral to Walnut Hill Cemetery.
