ASEL, Mrs. Reva E. Asel, age 91 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, November 4, 2006, at Oak Tree Villas, Jefferson City, Mo. She was born November 22, 1914, at Wheatland, Mo., the daughter of Ernest and Icel Robertson Stewart. She was married October 2, 1937, at Bowling Green, Mo., to Robert K. Asel, who preceded her in death on March 10, 1983. Mrs. Asel graduated from high school in Lowry City, Missouri, and attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She came to Jefferson City in 1935, and worked in Federal and State offices for several years. Mrs. Asel was a member of the Central United Church of Christ, had served on the church board and was a member of the Esther Circle of the church. She was a Charter and Life Member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a Charter Member of the Meadow Lake Acres Country Club, a member of the Hawthorn Garden Club and the Historical Society. Survivors included a son, Robert H. Asel and his wife, Judy of Jefferson City, Mo., a granddaughter, Deborah Asel Neuner of Jefferson City, a grandson, Keith Asel and his wife, Kathy of Lee's Summit, Mo., and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Buescher Memorial Home, Tuesday, November 7, 2006, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Graveside services and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Stephen H. Buchholz officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Central United Church of Christ or to the National Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are under the direction of the Buescher Memorial Home.
