Son of the late William and Anne (Eadie) Stewart. An electrician by trade, he last was employed as custodian of the branch library in Blackinton.
At one time be played with orchestras In the Troy and Albany, N.Y., areas.
He served overseas 37 months during World War II.
He leaves one sister, Miss Margaret H. Stewart, head of the social science department at Drury High School; and a cousin, Albert Thompson in Nova Scotia.'
