Birth: Jan. 26, 1895
Death: Sep. 20, 1960

Served in the United States Navy for 32 years. During World War II he was taken prisoner by the Japanese at the fall of Manila in 1941 and was held 3 years. He retired as a Rear Admiral with total disability. He was awarded the Navy Cross, which was presented personally by the President. He was also awarded the Purple Heart with three Gold Stars; the Army Distinguised Unit Badge and Oak Leaf Cluster; the Philippine Distinguished Service Star, and numerous medals for participation during World War I and World War II
